WP7 Mango Carrier Testing in Australia is Complete! Vodafone and Telstra definite, Optus reported!

So Vodafone Australia have just confirmed to all their customers with HTC Trophy WP7 handsets that they have completed Carrier Testing and approved the update.  Now all that they are waiting on is the Microsoft official Mango launch/Release – expected in about 17 hours at the Day 2 Build 2011 Keynote!

Well done Vodafone.  Now for Telstra and Optus (Updated – DONE read on!)

WOW – so further to speculation from this very site yesterday RIGHT HERE – it looks like MS and Carriers have got their $hite together and exorcised once and for all the ghosts of NoDo past!

The Vodafone Blog confirms:

Breaking ranks....Vodafone's Blog this morning!

And the all important news -

Mango Approved! C'mon MS hit that button!

Stealing the thunder of Microsoft’s Day 2 Keynote (guess) and the likes of premium partner Telstra is sure to raise some eyebrows.

Mango’s are now officially RIPE for the picking and ready to come to Market!  Live blog Keynote coverage tomorrow morning by WPDownUnder with all your news!

Sheeds.

—————– UPDATE ——————-

Telstra have replied to my tabled question, asking their position on the timings of the Mango update for existing customers.  The answer – it will be in Spring!  Whilst that is a significant landing pad – I remain optimistic that we will see a better outcome, if not best case, than this!

—————– UPDATE 2 ——————-

Any news for Optus??? COME ON Optus! I want Mango on my Omnia =(

I’m cautiously skeptical. Microsoft (well, their partners) screwed up the last update so badly. If they can get Mango rolled out smoothly (and timely) they will destroy my only criticism of their amazing platform. WP7 updates to date have been a disaster. If everyone with a WP7 phone gets Mango within a couple of weeks of the announced launch then Microsoft will show that they understand our frustration and have learned a valuable lesson.

So my fellow blogger and WP7 enthusiast Peter has written up a piece on the OPTUS report today of also having approved Mango! Maybe this will egg on Telstra to get a hurry up and be ready for the WP7 official launch by MS! Still confident!
