Nokia Australia kick-off the marketing activity for the Lumia 800.

A few weeks ago the Nokia Australia website was updated to feature the Lumia 800 (and 710) as “coming soon”. Since then, we have had CES and the massive publicity over the Lumia 900 – with CNET and other bodies voting it Best Smartphone of the conference. However per the online “momentum” site Nokia was running to show the deployment of the Lumia market launches around the world, Australia has remained a TBC market for any release announcements, down the schedule as Nokia squeeze every drop out of the N9 device still actively being pushed in-stores. In a first step today, Nokia has started it’s Marketing drive on the Lumia 800 by producing a promotional media PDF piece (with interactive weblinks) which captures some of the world-wide excitement and positive reception (WOW factor) for the Lumia 800.

Let’s hope that this first step sees the arrival of their handsets soon – to help deliver a shot-in-the-arm for Windows Phone Down-Under! Rumours aside, we still have no official announcements on GEN2 device launches here in Australia almost 3 weeks into 2012!

Sheeds.

Great to see something finally happening down under
But will have to see also if this is going to be compatible with Telstra’s NextG (current ones aren’t) or wait for the 900 LTE on Telstra :) . . or change Carriers…

Looking forward to seeing/playing with a Lumia 800 (consider it an entree for later in the year with the 900!). Don’t forget to sign the site petition in January! :)
