It’s been a long wait for anything official from Telstra on Australia’s first 4G Windows Phone; the HTC Titan II. With rumoured launch dates from as around the start of this month, to advice in the past week that demo devices had arrived in selected Telstra stores….firm details have remained scarce. No longer!
The new Telstra consumer catalogue “Let’s Connect” No. #9 features the first public teaser of the imminent launch of this giant of a phone!
UPDATE:
WPDownUnder has just received information for an insider tip-off that retail stores will be selling the HTC Titan II 4G on TELSTRA plans from the 22nd May 2012. Whilst an official launch may happen anytime from Tuesday the 15th (with possible online availability from this date similar to the way the Omnia W was launched) – the 22nd May will be the kick-off for in-store sales of this device based on credible news we received this morning. Whilst internal launch dates admittedly appear to have shifted a number of times on this device at Telstra, this latest date looks firm.

Thanks to one of our readers, we have the following snaps of the pages it features in – although no details on plans or pricing are confirmed.
WPDownUnder expects it to launch from tomorrow week (May 1st – with a very small chance of tomorrow) – and on a $79 plan (min. entry for no MRO). Outright price of around the mid-$800′s.
Interestingly, in the current poll on our site (see home page) – the Titan II 4G is being out-voted 6-1 in favour of the Nokia Lumia 900 as the preferred 4G Windows Phone of choice for Telstra customers. The Lumia 900 presently has no confirmed carrier to range this device Down Under.
As soon as we have confirmed details on the Titan II we will update everyone here. In the mean time, here’s a HTC video on the original HTC Titan I (no 16MP camera or 4G as the 2 main differences).
Sheeds.
