That was quick! New F/ware update for Lumia 800′s on Vodafone.

Earlier this month the 12070 firmware update from Nokia was released globally for the Lumia 800. This update provided a couple of key bugifxes/enhancements – particularly a significantly improved battery life. However, at the time – and as reported by WPDownUnder – the update shipped with a couple of known further issues, the main one being a ring volume bug which actually caused Vodafone AU to halt deployment for its customers. Well great news, as Nokia have fixed this issue and Vodafone have confirmed the release of an updated 12072 firmware version for its Aussie Lumia 800 customers.

Per a post on their company blog in the past 24 hours, Vodafone have advised that the 12072 phone update has commenced deployment to a small initial number of their customers with the balance expected to see it by the end of this month. Whilst it still doesn’t include the much-waited for Tethering or ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) capability Nokia have promised is coming, it nevertheless is great to see Nokia’s committment to promptly work with carriers to get OEM updates out to their Lumia customers.
