Exclusive: Lumia 610 Prepaid pricing/launch info on Boost Mobile

Thanks to a tip-off from a valued WPDownUnder reader, we can now confirm launch pricing and availability of the new Nokia Lumia 610 WIndows Phone coming exclusively to Boost Mobile in June. This new entry-level Windows Phone device looks set to pave the way for new markets, new outlets and new customers to the Nokia-Windows Phone ecosystem. Coming with the latest Tango WP7.5+ update, this lower-specced device gets all the great benefits of its older siblings – WP7, Live Tiles, Me Hub, Office Hub, dedicated camera button, Skydrive, Nokia suite of services – and yet packs it all into a price point which opens up the doors of the pre-paid market to WP7, making an ideal first smartphone for any newcomer.

Boost Mobile is a youth-orientated mobile service provider (reseller) using the Optus 3G/2G network. They describe themselves as:

Whilst the Lumia 610 will come to Vodafone and major retailers from July, it launches exclusively in June with Boost. WPDownUnder was advised by Boost HO that it should be available for purchase from the 4th June. Pricing, and plan value is per the picture below – being $299 pre-paid with a $40 recharge credit (an effective handset price of $259) and an outright RRP by Nokia of $329.

    Sorry – forgot to add – the Lumia 610 is locked to the Optus network. However the handset should work unlocked on all 3G networks (Optus/Virgin/Telstra).
