Thanks to Vodafone_AU – we are happy to confirm that the much-anticipated Nokia Lumia Tethering or WiFi Hotspot (Internet Connection Sharing) update appears to finally be almost here! In response to questions tabled by WPDownUnder to Vodafone today, we have received advice stating that the current Windows Phone 7.5 (MCR3) (Tango?) Update in test at Vodafone contains this feature rollout for the Lumia range.
About time!
And on their software update Blog:

This great news! The Tethering update has been a long time coming, and aside from some niggling issues with the camera performance on the Lumia 800 – this will really top off this awesome device. Oh – and it should also be here for the Lumia 710.
Great stuff, we can’t wait to have it arrive (in a couple of weeks – certainly before the end of June). It would not surprise us if this update launches around the time of Microsoft’s June 30 Windows Phone Summit!
Sheeds.
KUDOS to mynokiablog for their EXCLUSIVE find yesterday in discovering the MCR3 test at Vodafone_AU and surmising that this would indeed include Tethering!
