In the context of the last 18 months, two Aussie “big business” Windows Phone App releases in the one month could be constituted “being on a roll”
So with the Vodafone app we have already covered being released last week, a new Aussie bank app for Bankwest also arrived this month. With the Commonwealth Bank being an early supporter of the Windows Phone platform, it’s great to see them bring their Western Australian subsidiary bank into the fold.
Thanks to the numerous readers who tipped us off on the App’s arrival. In the marketplace now, it allows Bankwest customers to:
- Do everyday banking on the go for existing customers.
- Bankwest ATM and store locations and information.
- Commonwealth Bank ATM locations.
- Their handy savings calculator.
- Foreign exchange rates &
- Simple access to staff via their Bankwest contacts.

And a larger version (clickable) for the screenies:
There’s a nice smattering of services/features in there, as well as the more common process of utilising browser rendering of the mobile banking site, rather than making it a complete native App experience. Also worth noting is that this further shows up both NAB (see their response here) and ANZ, who have been unable – or unwilling – to invest in Windows Phone Apps to this point.
Nice work Bankwest! You can grab the App HERE.
Sheeds.
