Yesterday we featured the latest SensisAPI challenge for July 2012 – with its massive $5,000 1st prize if you can rise to the occasion and slay the iOS and Android competition! Today, it’s a new Developer opportunity for the Aussie WP7 community. The venerable IceTV service – delivering TV Guide data (reliably YEARS before services like TIVO etc) and powerful remote scheduling capability to your Windows Media PC, PVR or Mac - ia now just missing a Windows Phone App. Currently, they have iOS and Android – as well as a mobile web (m.icetv.com.au) service. With an admitted current focus on windows and a new API you might be able to twist their arm to get access to, they are looking for an accomplished local WP7 Developer to assist them with an “Approved” IceTV WP7 App! Think you can deliver? Read on!
WPDownUnder remembers first signing up as an IceTV user when Digital TV first launched in Australia way back when…The laughable Now/Next only guide data supplied by networks at the time launched many early adopters onto the IceTV service. Today, from those early beginnings, IceTV have grown into a rich suite of TV Guide, Remote Scheduling and partnered PVR/Home Theatre hardware store.
Thanks to a tip-off from WPDownUnder reader Bodog, we were made aware of their offer to get a WP7 Developer on board. This is a great opportunity, and to sweeten the deal, IceTV are offering some hardware and a lifetime subscription to their service for the Developer they choose to proceed with their “Approved” WP7 platform App.
You can sign up at their forums to get in touch with Luke here. We can’t make any promises for whether this opportunity has already been filled – but wish any #wp7au Dev peeps good luck with getting an IceTV App off the ground for Windows Phone Down Under!
