Major Nelson. For those of you old enough, NO, not that Major Nelson of 1960′s Sidney Sheldon series I Dream of Jeannie (although there is a tech-related connection) - but rather Microsoft’s Larry Hryb of Xbox Live fame and gamertag Major Nelson – is in Australia now as a VIP guest and judge at Microsoft’s Imagine Cup (more on this soon). Major Nelson IS Microsoft royalty. As the Director of Programming for Xbox LIVE, Podcast guru, part of the team behind Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE, Xbox Achievements, Kinect for XBOX and more – Major Nelson is to Xbox Live and gaming what Joe Belfiore and Ben the PC Guy are to Windows Phone!

Here’s your chance to put that question you always wanted answered on Xbox Live and Xbox for Windows Phone to Major Nelson, as WPDownUnder interviews him next week!

In just a few days, WPDownUnder will be catching up with Major Nelson – and now you have the chance to submit us your ideal question for him. WPDU will be taking our favourite reader-submitted questions and including them in our conversation with Larry. Have a nagging question on Xbox LIVE implementation to Windows Phone? Interested to know more on Smartglass Gaming across Xbox console to Surface to phone with Windows 8 and WP8? Or do you just want to know what Major Nelson’s favourite game is for Windows Phone?

We can’t guarantee that your question will make it into our limited time with Major Nelson – and of course, he probably won’t be able to talk about any info as yet “un-released” by Microsoft on future platform releases….but we are sure our readers have some diverse and interesting topics they might like to raise with him!     Any chance of dropping Xbox Live GOLD subscription requirements for the Non Gaming related stuff (all the media apps etc)?

    I think the most I’ve paid for XBL is AU$50 for 12 months… That’s under $1 per week. The trick is you don’t buy through the xbox or through local retailers (as both rip you off and charge more than US). I always get my codes online with no issues. Make sure global code/guaranteed to work in Aus.

    If you could ask Larry, “What he thinks about Xbox on WP7, was the gaming experience worthwhile, did it integrate well, translate to the console well. Was it connected satisfactorily”

    Also, what does he think about the future of Xbox on WP8, how will the experience be improved upon for small screen gaming. Cheers Scott!
