OK. So you have your Kindle from Amazon from my first Kindle page. Then you have hit-up all the websites linked on my second Tips n Tricks page, and downloaded a heap of <legal> free ebooks. Now what, you ask?
It is important to note that there a a wide number of different formats for ebooks, ranging from common file types, such as .PDF, which can be displayed on most readers – to specific proprietary formats, such as Kindle’s .AZW file type and even open standard file types like .EPUB
Generally, the e-reader you buy will have an associated online store where the supported and preferred format file types of ebooks can be purchased and downloaded. You should carefully consider which e-reader you are after based on where you will buy from, and what type.
WIKIPEDIA articles on e-readers and supported file types for ebooks: E-READERS & EBOOKS. Thankfully, programs exist that can convert between both common and propriety formats (like below).
Lastly you will want an easy, efficient and <free> ebook library management application. The most popular, and best rated, is a program called Caibre. Here’s what it does, where to get it and a video for you from the creator on how it works.
